Welcome everyone! Here are a few mission rules and guidelines to help you along your way to earning exp and stats from these fun little missions!
Missions are split into two types; Solo and Team. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. We want to encourage interaction between rpers and their characters, but aren't discounting solo members either.
The exp/stats for the specific mission will be announced at the top of each current mission thread. The amount awarded goes up by how many words you write before the mission is over. For every 2000 words after the initial 2000 to qualify for the base awards, the exp/stats awarded increases by 20% of the initial amount.
Solo missions can be anything from locating a boss room to finding a rare item hidden deep within a level. Fighting bosses is forbidden for solo missions; It is too dangerous for one character alone, and therefor these missions will never come up in solo missions. While writing out a solo mission, if you would like an admin to RP things like NPCs and monsters, feel free to PM Dick Grayson. You will then be contacted by whatever admin will be RPing with you.
Solo mission almost always start out with less base exp and stat earnings than team missions do, but the additive percentages are the same for both.
Team missions will have the required number of members listed at the top, but in general, it will be between 2 and 5 members needed.
Your character doesn't have to be a solo character in order to participate in a solo mission. Characters that are in guilds are still allowed to participate in solo missions.
You do not have to participate in team missions with only characters from your guild, but you do have to meet the minimum required amount of characters.
There are no missions that are strictly art-based, but we aren't discounting you artists! Every mission, whether it is a team mission or solo mission, is allowed to have up to 3 art images. These are not mandatory, but each piece of art adds an extra 20% exp from the base experience level.
Example: This is a solo mission. The base exp that you can gain is 300 and 4 stats. The mission ends with a total of 6120 words. This earns you an extra 40% exp from the base exp, giving you a total of 420 exp. You also earn an extra 40% for stats, which equals out to 1.6 stats. Stats are always rounded up, so you gain 6 total stats.
You decide to draw two pieces of art for this mission, earning an extra 40% exp from the base. That 40% is calculated from the initial 300, earning you an extra 120, for a total of 540 exp and 6 stats.
In order to qualify, the art has to have at least 50% of the character's body, and have something to do with the mission. You can add multiple characters per piece of art, but each character must have at least 50% of it's body showing, otherwise they won't earn any exp.
